ANDALUCIA
GS Girls Meeting
21st - 22nd November | 2022
I left the group directly when rolling off the ferry boat. It took me about an hour and then I was at Ade & Pepe :-D
It must be 3 or 4 years ago that we have seen each other last time, but it was like last week! They are always so welcoming and after the big "Ola, que tal?" in the garage we were directly in a conversation of our bikes, seeing their new bikes.
For dinner we went to a nice Indian restaurant, but directly after the week in Morocco caught up with me, so I went directly to bed when we were back at their home. And man, how did I sleep!
The next morning, as the weather forecast was not too good for riding motorcycles, we girls decided to drive along the coast to Nerja by car. I have never been there before, but heard a lot about the famous caves and their concerts.
In the end it was a beautiful day and we took it easy, with various stops along the route. After a lovely lunch at a beach restaurant close to Nerja, we drove back. I immediately fell asleep in the car ;-), poor Ade had no entertainment with me...
The next day, Pepe had prepared a lovely route through the Sierra de Grazalema, passing through the winding "Puerto de Las Palomas" to Zahara de la Sierra. First we rode from Marbella with direction to Ronda on the famous A-397, where we close to the top turned off onto a tiny winding road. What a lovely detour through a colourful chestnut forrest; another Indian Summer day.
This time I was lucky, and the road of "Puerto de Las Palomas" was open. If you ever in the area (Andalucía), I can highly recommend riding that twisty road as it also provides fantastic views! It is one of my favourite routes in this area. Also I enjoyed riding so many twisties and curves today, after all the mainly straight roads in Morocco.
Somewhere after Zahara de la Sierra we had a "cheap & cheerful" lunch in a very popular restaurant along the road. And then it was time to say again Good-bye - hopefully not for another 3 or 4 years ...
I then carried on towards Sevilla via national road and then hitting the motorway all the way back home - well, not yet home-home as going first to James (and my little devil Frieda) :-D.
Once being back, it is time to carry on with my preparation for next years leg of the RTW-trip, and the next excursion together with my mum soon. Maybe you can already guess where to ... remember, our first attempt in January 2022.…
